7 booked for thrashing cops

AMRITSAR:Three days after Haryana cops were allegedly manhandled by residents of Mohkampura here, the police have booked seven persons, including two women.

Three days after Haryana cops were allegedly manhandled by residents of Mohkampura here, the police have booked seven persons, including two women.

Those booked were identified as Ashok Mukhiya of Vallah Mandi, Kiran, her mother Meena Devi, brother Krishna Kumar of Rose Avenue and three unknown persons. A case under Sections 353, 186 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against them.

Head Constable Nafa Singh stated to the police that he, along with constable Bheem Singh, went to serve a bailable warrant to the accused in connection with cheque bounce case. He said when they reached the house of Ashok Mukhiya in Rasulpur Kalar, the accused thrashed them and took their bag containing court documents.

According to information, Nafa Singh and constable Bheem Singh hail from the Panipat City police station. The family has alleged that the two cops pulled Ashok Mukhiya out of the house, took him towards 40-khuh area and thrashed him. 

The family raised the alarm following which people gathered and found the cops thrashing Ashok. Following this, people manhandled them. Bheem Singh managed to escape while Nafa Singh was confronted by people.
