NGO for probe into narcotics in prisons

A city-based NGO, Punjab Sudhar Sabha (PSS), has requested the government to institute an inquiry to unearth the racket behind the findings of narcotics in prisons.

A city-based NGO, Punjab Sudhar Sabha (PSS), has requested the government to institute an inquiry to unearth the racket behind the findings of narcotics in prisons.

In a press note issued here today, PSS general secretary Pawandeep Sharma said there was an urgent need to unearth the nexus and bring out the truth.

He also urged the government to prevent the police from registering cases under the NDPS Act against the youths for possessing small quantities of the prohibited substance.
