AMRITSAR: Unidentified persons decamped with Rs 4 lakh from a showroom in the Chheharta area here on Saturday. Ravi Sharma, the owner of the showroom, said, "I run an agency - Vaishnu Motor's Bajaj Auto Agency - at Chheharta Chowk. On Friday evening, I closed down the agency and went home. The next morning, around 8.30 am, when I came to my showroom, I found the CCTV cameras and DVR missing. Later, I found that thieves had decamped with a gold chain, a gold ring, two gold rings for women and Rs 4 lakh from the agency. The accused had entered from the rooftop." A case under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC has been registered in this regard. TNS
Man injured in firing incident
Tarn Taran: A man was injured in a firing incident near Bhagupur village, 35 km from here, on Saturday evening. The victim has been identified as Jion Singh, a resident of Maniala Jai Singh village. According to information, two unidentified persons in a Bolero car (PB-10-CN-6005) opened fire at the victim. The police said Jion Singh, along with others, was coming from Sanghvan village in a car. He came out of the car when its tyre got punctured. Thereafter, the accused fired at him. ASI Charan Singh said a case under Sections 307 and 34 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the unidentified accused. OC
