Activists of the All India Desh Bachao Nasha Mukhti Andolan paid obeisance at the Golden Temple before starting their statewide awareness campaign to make the masses aware of the ill-effects drugs.
Members of the campaign Poornima Verma and Congress leader Inderjit Baserke were also present on the occasion.
The activists also paid obeisance at Akal Takht for the success of the campaign. Baserke said from the first week of July, a series of seminars to create awareness on drugs would be started at villages.
He said de-addiction experts and members of various NGOs working on the issue would interact with residents during these seminars. Baserke also blamed that SAD-BJP government for the drug prevalence in the state during the past 10 years.
Delegation meets Akal Takht jathedar
A delegation of women from across the state also met Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh. Members of the delegation said as there was no discrimination among men and women in the Sikhism, the women should be allowed to be a part of Panj Pyaras.
