The Congress in support of its Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha candidate Jasbir Singh Dimpa organised 12 public rallies in the area on Tuesday.
During these rallies, party candidate Dimpa and other leaders flayed the Central Government and the SAD.
Addressing a gathering in Chabal, 16 km from here, Dimpa said, “The Central Government has failed to fulfil the promises made to the people five years ago and it is using the Army for its political gains. Demonetisation and unplanned GST have ruined the country’s economy and people.”
“In 2014, Prime Minister Modi had sought votes for development. Now, he is not uttering a single word on the achievements of his government. He is dragging the Army into his politics and seeking votes in name of Pulwama martyrs,” he added.
MLAs Dr Dharambeer Agnihotri, Harminder Singh Gill and district Congress president Manjit Singh were also present on the occasion.
The party also organised public rallies at Rataul, Mannan, Kot Dharam Chand Kalan and Palasaur.
