Two members of the Chief Khalsa Diwan, who were expelled during the previous regime, joined the organisation on Tuesday.
The general house had approved the move to reinstate three members. Bhag Singh Ankhi and Avtar Singh have joined the Chief Khalsa Diwan again whereas Harbhajan Singh Soch could not make it to the customary ceremony.
All of them were sacked during the tenure of Charanjit Singh Chadha allegedly for indulging in anti-organisation activities. The issue was also pending in court.
Meanwhile, heated arguments were exchanged when some of the members objected to their reinstatement saying that the consent of the executive body had not been sought. Supporters of Ankhi argued that when the approval of general house had been obtained, there was little need to get nod of the executive body.
Chief Khalsa Diwan’s honorary secretary NS Khurana said both members had deposited the requisite fee and documents.
