AMRITSAR: A farmer leader was booked for allegedly molesting his niece here on Monday.

Amritsar, July 10

A farmer leader was booked for allegedly molesting his niece here on Monday. The accused has been identified as Sarwan Pandher, a resident of Johal Pandher village.

The 20-year-victim told the police that her uncle resides in her house and on June 25, when she was alone in the house, he molested her.

The girl said thereafter, she escaped from the house and went to her female friend’s house at Rupowali village.

A case under Section 354-A of the IPC has been registered against the accused.

Pandher said, “The police have implicated me in a false case as we have been fighting against the government for farmers and labourers. They pressurised the girl for giving the statement.”—TNS
