Hoteliers meet minister

AMRITSAR: A delegation of the walled city hotel owners met Education Minister Om Parkash Soni and discussed the issues they had been face while constructing new hotels on Sunday.

A delegation of the walled city hotel owners met Education Minister Om Parkash Soni and discussed the issues they had been face while constructing new hotels on Sunday. The hoteliers alleged that Municipal Corporation (MC) officials harassed them.

Harinder Singh, office-bearer of the hoteliers’ association, said, “Thousands of tourists visit the holy city and stay in hotels. The government has been promoting the tourism, but destroying the hotel industry by implementing an unrealistic policy. The hotel industry has potential to generate huge employment opportunities.” Soni assured them to look into their issues.
