Amritsar, January 22
Members of the Adhyapak Sangharsh Committee on Tuesday staged a protest and burnt the effigy of state government in front of DC office. A large number of teachers took part in the protest. The protesters urged the government to restore the salary deduction of SSA and RMSA teachers. They demanded regular jobs for temporary teachers and implementation of the pay commission report.
They demanded that the state government should issue a notification and confirm the regular appointment of 5,178 master cadre posts. There should be no deduction in posts of head teachers of primary schools. They demanded the restoration of old pension scheme. Union leader Ashwani said, “At present, teachers working in schools are feeling suffocated.”
Harshinderpal Singh Pannu, Baldev Raj, Mangal Singh Tanda, Prabhjinder Singh, Harinder Palha, Santsevak Singh, Malkit Kadgil,Balkar Valtoha, Germanjit Singh Chhezalwadi, Gurdeep Singh Bajwa and Satbir Singh Boparai were among the prominent persons present in the protest.
