The television broadcast industry recently experienced a paradigm shift with TRAI’s MRP regime being implemented across India. The intent of the new regime is to give viewers freedom to choose and pay only for what they want to watch. The decision has also resulted in cutting short of a few channels that are being offered to subscribers. Actors of popular show ‘Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega’ visited the city to endorse an entertainment channel’s campaign against limiting or snapping the channel’s umbrella shows.

Actor Kanika Mann, who essays the role of Guddan in the show, along with Nishant Malkani, interacted with fans in Amritsar. “I am very excited to meet our fans here. Being in the holy city is wonderful. We plan to visit the Golden Temple and explore the famous places here.”

The young duo, who has been playing the lead in the popular show, shared that working in a daily show can be tiring and one needs to take every opportunity to enjoy taking a break. “Although we are working even as we promote the show, it is nice to be in Amritsar and we look forward to eat all the famed meals we have heard about,” said Nishant.

On the matter of limiting digital packages for audiences, Nishant said, “The Indian television has a wide reach, even overseas and limiting channels that offer popular entertainment can be a problem for viewers, who are now used to certain show. As actors, we cherish the bond we share with our viewers and are very excited to meet our fans.”
