Tarn Taran, September 18

Raminder Singh Ranmi (44), a known entrepreneur of the town, upset over the alleged illicit relationship of his wife, committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence.

The deceased’s wife, Kuldeep Kaur, and her paramour Baljinder Singh have been booked under Section 306 and 120-B of the IPC by the police.

The police said Raminder Singh, a successful entrepreneur, had polio infection in his leg. He was married to accused Kuldeep Kaur about 16 years ago and the couple had three kids.

Kuldeep Kaur allegedly made an illicit relationship with accused Baljinder Singh some time ago.

Her father-in-law and other family members advised her to mend her ways as their kids were growing up.

Harjit Singh Panesar, father of the deceased, said Kuldeep Kaur used to laugh at her husband over his ailment and would often say that he was useless.

Due to the ongoing differences, the couple had a verbal spat on Sunday night. Raminder, who was already under mental pressure, consumed some poisonous substance.

He was taken to Guru Nanak Dev Super Specialty Hospital the same time. He died on Monday night. The police said the accused were absconding. — TNS
