Amritsar, May 14
Panic gripped the railway station here this morning when the railway police found a youth murdered and the body packed in a suitcase in the Jan Naik Express train that arrived at around 5 am.
The train that started its journey from Darbhanga, arrived at platform no. four in the morning. Within minutes the train was empty as the passengers left the station.
During checking, the Railway Protection Force found a briefcase from a coach. They immediately sounded an alert and the Government Railway Police reached the spot. The entire platform was cordoned off and a bomb-disposal squad was also summoned. A foul smell was emanating from the suitcase. When opened, the GRP found the body of a 30-year-old youth. He was brutally murdered and packed in the suitcase. The culprits had killed him and dumped his body in the train.
GRP authorities said a case of murder had been lodged against unidentified persons at the moment and further investigations were under progress. DSP Makhan Singh of the GRP said they had informed all stations between Darbhanga and Amritsar and had sought missing reports if any reported at these stations. He said the youth was killed about 24 hours ago. No identity proof was found from the suitcase. He said the case could be of honour killing or a love affair as the accused was badly injured in his private parts.
