2 theft cases reported from dist

BATHINDA: Two theft incidents were reported from the district on Wednesday. In the first incident, three miscreants snatched a bag containing cash from a finance company official at Maur.

Two theft incidents were reported from the district on Wednesday. In the first incident, three miscreants snatched a bag containing cash from a finance company official at Maur.

Sushil Kumar, a resident of Peori village in Muktsar district, told the police that he was returning after collecting instalments. The complainant, who works with the Bharat Finance company, said while returning, three unidentified persons snatched his bag containing Rs75,000 in cash, a tab and other documents.

A case under Sections 379-B and 34 of the IPC has been registered against the unidentified persons at the Maur police station.

In the second incident, miscreants stole jewellery and cash worth Rs5.90 lakh from a house in Rampura.

Mohan Lal, a resident of Rampura, told the police that unidentified persons decamped with gold jewellery and Rs2.75 lakh in cash from his house in his absence from February 12 to 19.

Mohan Lal said he had gone out of station and when he returned on Tuesday, he found these items missing from his house.

A case under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC has been registered at the Rampura city police station.
