Bathinda, December 6

A gang of four persons, including two women, allegedly duped a farmer of Rs 1.04 lakh by threatening him to make his objectionable video at Maur Charat Singh village.

The Maur police arrested all four accused and produced them in a court, which sent them to one-day police remand.

A case under Sections 384, 388, 419, 420 and 120-B of the IPC has been registered against them at the Maur police station.

The accused have been identified as Nikki Kaur, a resident of Rampura, Sukhdeep Kaur, a resident of Maur Charat Singh village, Makhan Singh, a resident of Burj Rathi village in Mansa, and Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Jhanduke village.

Complainant Surjeet Singh, a resident of Jeond village, said he knew Nikki Kaur who assured him that she would find a suitable match for him.

However, she hatched a conspiracy with her friend Sukhdeep Kaur while also involving Makhan and Gurpreet.

As per the plan, she called him at Sukhdeep Kaur’s house at Maur Charat Singh village. However, when he reached there, Nikki entered the room without clothes and caught him while Sukhdeep made a video with her mobile phone, he said.

At the same time, Makhan and Gurpreet reached the spot and introduced themselves as policemen. They demanded Rs 1 lakh while threatening to arrest him.

Surjeet Singh gave them Rs 4,000 on the spot and later arranged another Rs 1 lakh for them.

Later, he lodged a complaint at the Maur police station. Sub-inspector Baljeet Singh said the investigation was on and they were trying to find out whether the accused perpetrated more such frauds.
