Clerk booked on voyeurism charge

FARIDKOT: The police have booked a clerk-cum-steno of the Faridkot Education Department on the charge of voyeurism. The complainant is a colleague of the suspect. The complainant said the suspect was working along with her in the district Education Department’s office here on clerical posts. She said some time ago, they had become friends, but now after break up, suspect Gupreet started harassing her. She also accused the suspect of blackmailing her and uploading and sharing their private photographs. A case under Section 354-C and 506 of the IPC has been registered against the suspect. TNS

Mystery shrouds woman’s death

Bathinda: A 27-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her house on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Saraswati Devi, who hailed from Bihar. The police said the reason behind her death would be ascertained after the investigation. Harjit Singh, SHO, Cantt. police station, said, “We have informed the parents of the deceased, who will reach the city soon.” TNS
