Details of illegal buildings tabled before probe panel

BATHINDA: A meeting of members the probe panel constituted to investigate illegal buildings was held at the MCB office today.

A meeting of members the probe panel constituted to investigate illegal buildings was held at the MCB office today.

At the meeting, MCB officials presented the records pertaining to illegal buildings constructed in the past two years before the members.

The illegal buildings included those which have been built by violating the building rules and for which the amount for change of land use (CLU) has not been paid.

The MCB officials claimed that they have sent notices to all building owners, while the CLU of some of the building has also been cancelled owing to the violation of rules.

Deputy Mayor Gurinderpal Kaur Mangat said the probe panel had received records of the illegal buildings constructed in the past two years and after seeing them, they had told the MCB officials to conduct physical verification of the building so that the present condition of the building can be ascertained.

The panel has given 20 days to the MCB officials for the physical verification. They will check the present condition of the buildings and the reason behind the violation.

The members of the panel said action should be taken against the buildings constructed on the MCB land, roads or parks.

They have also call for action against those who violated the map and impose a penalty on those who have not paid the CLU.
