Faridkot police seek public help to fight drugs

Issue WhatsApp helpline 7527029029 inviting text, voice messages

The Faridkot police on Tuesday announced a WhatsApp helpline at which people can give information about drug peddlers in their areas.

The police said the information provided through the social media messaging app to 7527029029 about the supply and consumption of narcotics drugs would be kept secret.

Faridkot SSP Manjeet Singh Dhesi said people could send text or verbal messages to provide information about drug suppliers or peddlers without any fear. “I keep this WhatsApp number personally round the clock. I request people not to make any voice call on this number. Any information provided at this number will be followed by concrete, plausible and perceptible action," the SSP said.

Inviting all and sundry to share information they have about drug suppliers, the SSP said the war against drugs couldn't achieve success till society took up cudgels. "We have to build a system of working together that is team-based in this fight against drugs. I assure you that all information you share with me will be a top secret," he added.
