Five booked on kidnapping charge

BATHINDA: The police have booked five persons, one of them is yet to be identified, on the charge of kidnapping two residents. They were also accused of taking Rs 5 lakh in cash, the same amount through cheques and making an obscene video of the complaints.

The police have booked five persons, one of them is yet to be identified, on the charge of kidnapping two residents. 

They were also accused of taking Rs 5 lakh in cash, the same amount through cheques and making an obscene video of the complaints.  

The accused has been identified as Dharjeet Bansal, Manju, Veerpal Kaur, all residents of Nar Singh Colony and Piyare Lal, a resident of Chak Ruldu Wala village. While Dharamjeet Bansal, Manju and Veerpal have been arrested, two accused are still at large. 

A case under Sections 342, 386, 506 and 149 of the IPC has been registered against the accused at the Sangat police station. 

In his complaint, Ram Kumar, a resident of Dabwali, told the police that on August 16, he and his friend Binder Singh came to a house at Nar Singh Colony in Dabhwali. He said the accused had kidnapped them in the house and locked in a room. 

He said the accused captured their cellphones and made an obscene video. Ram Kumar said the accused also threatened them to kill and upload the video on social media.  

He told the police that they gave Rs 5 lakh in cash and the same amount through cheques. 

The SHO of the Sangat police station, Parmajeet Singh, said they had arrested three accused and the reaming ones would be held soon. — TNS
