Four persons have been booked for a fraud of Rs 12.5 crore with a bank in the city.

In a complaint lodged with the police by Rakhi Gupta, a resident of Pukhraj Colony, it has been stated that accused Bhagwan Dass, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Rakesh Kumar and Tanisha Garg, without informing her got a limit of Rs 12.5 crore created on her property by keeping it as a guarantee in the bank by giving forged documents.

She said now, after taking Rs 12.5 crore, they are not returning the money.

A case under Sections 120-B, 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 199 and 200 of the IPC has been registered against the accused at the Civil Lines police station. However, no arrest has been made so far.

Civil Lines police station SHO Rachpal Singh said they had registered a case and now a probe would be conducted. The role of bank officials in the fraud will be cleared after the completion of investigation, he said.

Accused Bhagwan Dass on Friday held a press conference in which he alleged that they had been booked in a false case and refuted all allegations.
