GKU hosts two-day conference on research in languages

BATHINDA: The University College of Basic Sciences and Humanities (UCBS&H), Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, organised a two-day national conference on “Research in languages, literature and social sciences: Modern perspectives and prospects” with the aim of providing a platform to research scholars to exchange their valuable ideas and showcase the ongoing research which may lead to path-breaking foundation in their respective fields.

The University College of Basic Sciences and Humanities (UCBS&H), Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, organised a two-day national conference on “Research in languages, literature and social sciences: Modern perspectives and prospects” with the aim of providing a platform to research scholars to exchange their valuable ideas and showcase the ongoing research which may lead to path-breaking foundation in their respective fields.

On the second day, about 100 participants presented research papers in different technical sessions. In the valedictory session, Dr LS Kheeva welcomed the guests. Dr Shyamkiran Kaur, convener, briefly introduced the conference. Guest of Honour, Dr Harpal Singh Pannu, Chairperson, Guru Gobind Singh Chair, Central University of Punjab, delivered the keynote address that enthralled the participants and enhanced their research growth. He enlightened the research scholars with his sagacious approach. He highlighted the need for strategies and tools of authentic research.

Dr GS Brar, Dean Academics, GKU, congratulated the UCBS&H for the success of the event and encouraged the researchers to enhance the knowledge and skills in research. Dr Narinder Singh, Director Finance, appreciated the efforts made by UCBS&H.

The conference review report was presented by Dr Balwant Singh Sandhu, Deputy Dean, UCBS&H. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Ashwani Sethi, Director Planning and Development. The function was coordinated by Dr Parveen Mehta. In the end, certificates were distributed to the participants.
