Manpreet doles out Rs 55 lakh grant

BATHINDA: Finance Minister and MLA from Bathinda (Urban) Manpreet Singh Badal on Sunday gave Rs 55.75 lakh grant to various organisations in the city.

Bathinda, April 15

Finance Minister and MLA from Bathinda (Urban) Manpreet Singh Badal on Sunday gave Rs 55.75 lakh grant to various organisations in the city.

Manpreet Badal first visited Jujhar Singh Nagar where he inaugurated a free medical camp organised by Global Welfare Society.

Thereafter, the Finance Minister addressed a meeting organised by Dhobhi Mahasabha, where he announced Rs 10 lakh grant for the construction of a dharamshala for the dhobi community.

Manpreet assured that every request of the community would be fulfilled and he also thanked all members for their support.

Later, Manpreet Badal visited Kartar Colony in Ward Number 1 where Tehal Singh Sandhu and Gurpreet Sony raised issues pertaining to the area with the minister.

He handed over a cheque for Rs 10 lakh for the construction of a dispensary in Kartar Colony.

While addressing the workers here he thanked all and promised to fulfil all pending works of the colony such as roads, parks and opening a gym.

The minister also handed over a cheque for Rs 5 lakh to members of Vishawkarma Bhawan and technical society.

Afterwards, Manpreet Badal went to the Gurdwara Sahib at Balaram Nagar in Ward Number 4 and handed over a cheque for Rs 5 lakh for the construction of a dispensary at Guru Gobind Singh Nagar.

He also handed over a cheque for Rs 2 lakh to Pritam Singh Brar, president of the National Colony Association for dharmshala.

The minister also released funds for parks of National Colony and Teachers Colony.

He also handed over a cheque for Rs 1.75 lakh to Sukhmander Pal Singh, president of Guru Gobind Singh Welfare Society, for welfare works.

Later, he visited Bhuleria Mohala in Ward No. 29 where he handed over a cheque for Rs 2 lakh for a dharmshala in the locality, Rs 5 lakh for dharamshala at Gurunanak Pura, Rs 5 lakh for a dharmshala to Hajji Rattan Gate Parbandak Committee and Rs 5 lakh for Shri Gaushala Sirki Bazaar. — TNS
