BATHINDA: The second meeting of the panel probing recruitment in the Municipal Corporation Bathinda (MCB) was held at the MC office today in which MCB officials came up with complete records of only six of the 262 posts in the corporation.

The second meeting of the panel probing recruitment in the Municipal Corporation Bathinda (MCB) was held at the MC office today in which MCB officials came up with complete records of only six of the 262 posts in the corporation.

Later, members of the panel, who demanded complete records of posts, said the details were not sufficient. It was also raised that some data operators were also recruited who were not well versed in typing.

In the meeting, Deputy Controller (finance and audit) Lakhbir Trikha has been asked to submit the details of the recruited posts with the panel within a week, in the next meeting scheduled for May 9.

Officials have also been asked to submit details regarding the number of workers recruited in the past two years, their last month attendance, official name, who checked their attendance, advertisement regarding the recruitment given in newspaper, received application for jobs, job selection process followed and all related documents to the panel within 10 days.

Some of the members were least interested in the meeting and were seen busy in taking selfies and uploading them on social networking sites. While some of the councillors were busy on their phones.

Councillor Sukhdev Singh Brar, Anjana Rani, Jasveer Singh Jassa, Baljit Singh Raju Sra, Parminder Kaur Sidhu, Pritam Kaur, Nirmal Kaur, Kamlesh Rani, Beant Singh Randhawa, Harjinder Singh Shinda and Assar Paswan were among those others present.

The committee was constituted in an earlier meeting after allegations regarding irregularities in the recruitment was raised by councillors. They had sought the details of the recruitment of 262 posts in the MCB.
