Bathinda: Lovepreet Kaur, second-year student of Bachelor of Architecture at the Giani Zail Singh School of Architecture and Planning, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), was honoured with “Yuva Ratna 2019” award at a recently national-level design competition organised by Unit Birla White Cement of the Aditya Birla group. Lovepreet Kaur designed an anganwadi model in Kerala for kids of the tribal community. The thrust of the design was on climate conditions, locally available material and topography of the site, along with the living style of the tribal. The award includes a trophy, certificates and appreciation letter. It was received by her guide Prof Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot and Lovepreet himself at a felicitation ceremony held in Mumbai on March 15. TNS
Theft bid at gurdwara
Malout: Some unidentified persons on Tuesday entered a gurdwara at Jhorar village here by breaking locks, but failed to take anything. Gurmeet Singh, a priest at the gurdwara, informed the police that when he reached the premises in the morning, he found the locks broken. He said luckily, everything was found in place. Meanwhile, the thieves also made a similar bid at another religious place in the village. They could not get success there as well. The Malout (Sadar) police have registered a case in this regard.
