Bathinda, April 19

Students and faculty members of Guru Kashi University (GKU) organised a tree plantation drive on the campus here on Friday.

The plantation drive was arranged by Dr Parveen Mehta, Kuldeep Singh and Dr Rajni Bala. The programme commenced after the arrival of Dr JS Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Kashi University. In his address, the VC spoke on the value of tree plantation.

He said, “Tree plantation is a very old tradition. Now-a-days, the number of tree plantation drives has decreased which is a cause for concern as maintaining the temperature of the earth’s atmosphere would be difficult in the years to come.”

Dr RK Gupta exhorted all the students and faculty members to organise tree plantation drives in future as well.
