Bathinda, May 21

Members of the PWD Field and Workshop Workers’ Union staged a protest over long-pending demands, including pending salaries, here on Tuesday.

Raising slogans, the protesters demanded from the government to fulfil their pending demands at the earliest.

Raj Kumar Grover, president of the union, said, “Contractual employees of Bhucho Mandi, Goniana and Kot Fatta have not received their salaries since April. The government has not fulfilled a number of pending demands to date due to which there is lot of resentment among workers. If salaries of the union members are not paid, we will intensify our stir against the government in the coming days.”— TNS
