BATHINDA: The Vigilance Bureau (VB) nabbed a Junior Engineer (JE) of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 .



Bathinda: The Vigilance Bureau (VB) nabbed a Junior Engineer (JE) of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 . The accused has been identified as Raj Singh and was posted at Bazakhana. Faridkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (VB) Ashwini Kumar said, “Harwinder Singh, a resident of Ghanian village in the Faridkot district had complained that a transformer of the Powercom Department was installed in his field. A few days ago, it got damaged and he requested the JE concerned to replace it.” He said, “The complainant further stated that even after visiting the site, the JE did not replace the transformer. When Harwinder met the JE on June 13 again, the latter demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 to get the work done. The amount was fixed at Rs 4,000. On Friday, we laid a trap and nabbed the JE red-handed at PSPCL store in Kotkapura while accepting the bribe.”  TNS
