Barnala, August 17
The Barnala (City) police have arrested a person in an immigration related fraud of Rs 5 lakh.
As per an FIR registered under Section 420 of the IPC, accused Manjit Singh promised Jasvir Singh to send him to America.
Manjit had claimed that he had an office in America. Jasvir allegedly gave Rs 5 lakh to the accused to send him abroad.
However, after getting the amount, Manijt started delaying the matter and neither did he send Jasvir to America nor returned his money.
“During investigation, it came to light that the accused returned Rs 50,000 sometime ago,” said ASI Satwinderpal Singh. — TNS
