The handball team of Sangrur emerged the winner of the state-level games at the Multipurpose stadium here on Saturday.
In the final, the Sangrur team defeated Faridkot 18-8. For the third place match, Mohali edged past Rupnagar 13-10.
Earlier in the semifinal match, Sangrur defeated Mohali 8-7 in a nail-biting contest to reach the final.
Earlier, in the pre-quarterfinals stage, Bathinda girls defeated Mansa 4-3 and made it to the quarterfinals.
In other matches, Ludhiana thrashed Moga 7-2, while Faridkot beat Fatehgarh Sahib 5-3.
