Seven arrested with illicit liquor

BATHINDA: The Bathinda police have booked 10 persons under the Excise Act of whom seven have been arrested with illicit liquor.

The Bathinda police have booked 10 persons under the Excise Act of whom seven have been arrested with illicit liquor.

In the first case, the Cantonment police arrested Bikramjit Singh, a resident of Cantonment road area with seven bottles of illicit liquor. The accused was released on bail.

The Nathana police have booked Sema Singh, Sant Singh and Jagtar Singh, residents of Nathana and Mejar Singh, a resident of Poohli village under the Excise Act. Sema Singh and Mejar Singh were arrested with five litres of illicit liquor and 20 litres of lahan. Sant Singh and Jagtar Singh ran away from the spot when police raided.

The Dialpura police arrested Balwinder Singh, a resident of Salabatpura, with 22 litres of illicit liquor from Kangar village.

The Rama police have booked Tari, Anikait Kumar and Kashmiri Lal, residents of Rama Mandi, and recovered 108 bottles of illicit liquor from their Maruti-800 car (PB-08R-9169). Anikait Kumar and Kashmiri Lal were arrested while Tari ran away at Ramsara village.

The Talwandi Sabo police recovered 24 bottles of illicit Liquor from Buta Singh and Karamjit Singh, residents of Ram Dittewala, Mansa, from a naka at Jagga Ram Tirath village.

The Thermal police arrested Sunita Devi near the railway station, Goniana Road, with 250 gm ganja. A case has been registered again Sunita under Sections 20, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.
