Bathinda, November 10

A large number of people thronged stalls of homemade edibles and other articles put up by self-help groups and progressive farmers at Rose Garden on Sunday. These stalls have been set up in view of the 550th Parkash Purb celebrations.

A progressive farmer from Mandi Khurd is selling his self-made energy drink ‘B-treat’, which is made with the help of ingredients such as bee-pollen, honey and citric acid. Jagtar Singh said he wished to prepare an edible item which is made from natural ingredients.

“The shelf life of this product is nearly 90 days and now, we are in the process of formally launching this energy drink in the coming days,” Jagtar added. He said he had got the product registered under the Food Safety and Standards Act. According to him, the ISO number will be issued soon.

“We have started selling this drink to schools and colleges. After completing the paper formalities, we will provide it to hospitals. At present, we are selling this drink for Rs 50 and its price may go down in the coming days. The health drink helps in reducing stress due to the presence of bee pollen,” said Jagtar.
