Truck operator commits suicide

Unable to repay the debt, a truck operator committed suicide in Mansa. As per information Baljinder Singh (28), a resident of Preet Nagar, had two trucks. Baljinder suffered losses during the wheat lifting season.

Victim’s brother Jagtar Singh stated that about four months back Baljinder had to sell off one of his trucks and second truck about 20 days back. Baljinder had taken about Rs 5 lakh on credit from some of his acquaintances but couldn’t repay the debt. His deteriorating financial condition led to marital discord which ended in divorce three years back.

Late on Monday night he left his home and committed suicide by jumping in front of a train. The Government Railway Police took the body to the Civil Hospital and handed it over to the family after a post-mortem.
