The first woman Panjab University Campus Students Council (PUCSC) President Kanupriya had on Saturday rubbished RSS-backed ABVP's accusations of her supporting Punjab referendum. Now, ABVP supporters have taken to posting 'death threats' to Kanupriya on a senior ABVP leader's Facebook account, alleged the SFS.

The left-leaning party Students for Society (SFS) shared Facebook posts wherein members, who allegedly belong to the ABVP, wrote comments like 'shoot at sight' and 'shoot her' for Kanupriya. "I am not surprised by the hooliganism of ABVP as I remember them doing the same in 2017 when they threatened Gurmehar of rape. We are now in 2019 with ABVP giving me death threats. This clearly shows the hollowness of their ideas which they defend with nothing other than a threat to shoot me. An organisation which justifies rape in their rallies and lynch minorities is expected to give no good to the society," said Kanupriya.

Meanwhile Kanupriya said she was not afraid of these threats as the whole party as well as students were  with her.

ABVP general secretary Parvinder Singh Katora said, "I am not sure as to who commented; it can be anyone. It can be part of some propaganda.” — TNS
