‘Review move to shut transformer repair units’

PATIALA:The PSEB Engineers Association has demanded that the decision to close down transformer repair workshops by Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) be reviewed.

The PSEB Engineers Association has demanded that the decision to close down transformer repair workshops by Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) be reviewed. 

They demanded that the issue be discussed with all stakeholders. Sanjeev Sood, president of association, said that damage rate of repaired transformers by private parties was over 25.2 per cent whereas the same is just 8.3 per cent in case of the workshops repaired y the department workshops. Sood said the association had written to PSPCL management on the subject. PSPCL has decided to immediately close down its five divisions, involved in the repair of transformers.
