A 17-year-old boy was allegedly bitten by a pet dog in Sohana today.

The incident took place around 2 pm when the child, Balwinder Singh, was playing with the dog. According to his mother, Anita, the dog bit the upper lip of the boy. She heard his cries and ran out of the house to rescue him.

He was bleeding profusely. His mother tied a dupatta on the boy’s face to stop the bleeding. He was taken to a private clinic from where he was rushed to the emergency ward at the Civil Hospital in Phase 6, Mohali. At the hospital, doctors said the boy’s condition was serious and he had to be operated upon.

The boy was then referred to the GMCH-32 where doctors recommended a surgery.
