The bodies of two unidentified men were recovered from railway tracks between the Ambala Cantonment and Dukheri railway stations today.

According to information, the GRP received information that two bodies were lying in a pool of blood at some distance on the railway tracks.

GRP investigating officer Raj Kumar said: “While one person appears to be in mid-20s, the other one appears to be in early 30s. A mobile phone was also recovered from the spot. With the help of the cyber cell, address on a house has been obtained. However, it is still not clear if the mobile belongs to the deceased”.

“The persons, who were contacted, are likely to reach here from Gwalior on Tuesday for the identification of the bodies. The cause of the death could not be established yet as they might have fallen off a running train,” Kumar said.

A railway ticket from Amritsar to Ambala was found from one of the deceased.

SHO GRP Ram Bachan said the bodies had been kept in the GRP mortuary for identification.
