2 booked for abetment to suicide

PATIALA:The local police have booked two persons for abetment to suicide after a woman allegedly ended her life here.



Patiala, October 16

The local police have booked two persons for abetment to suicide after a woman allegedly ended her life here.

The accused have been identified as Amandeep Singh, a resident of Nadhari Colony, Saman, while another accused is yet to be identified. 

According to the victim’s brother Sukhwinder Singh, last Saturday, when his sister was alone in the house, accused Amandeep Singh, along with his accomplice, entered the house, but fled from the spot after she raised an alarm.

Following which his sister felt disrespected, he said, and left the house for some work, but did not return.

The woman later committed suicide by jumping into the Bhakhra canal. Her body was recovered from the Khanauri head on Monday. 

The police have registered a case under Sections 302 (murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
