CHANDIGARH: The District Bar Association today observed no work day in protest against misbehaviour with a woman advocate.

Chandigarh, May 20

The District Bar Association today observed no work day in protest against misbehaviour with a woman advocate.

A delegation of advocates headed by NK Nanda, president of the association, demanded arrest of the accused. After getting assurance from the police, the association decided to resume work tomorrow.

The advocate had gone to a hotel to discuss a divorce case with her client on Friday. The other party had also come to the hotel for the purpose. During the process, heated arguments took place. In the meantime, a brother of her client’s wife passed derogatory remarks against her. When the advocate asked him to stop abusing her, his mother attacked and threatened to kill her, alleged the advocate.

Later, the advocate called up cops and filed a complaint against the accused. —TNS
