Bar Assn protests against Judge

ANANDPUR SAHIB: The Anandpur Sahib Bar Association passed a resolution, decided to boycott the court of Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division)-cum-Subdivisional Judicial Magistrate Ashok Kumar Chauhan for four days.

The Anandpur Sahib Bar Association passed a resolution, decided to boycott the court of Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division)-cum-Subdivisional Judicial Magistrate Ashok Kumar Chauhan for four days. The Bar president, Daulat Singh, had alleged that the Judge insulted him in the open court.

Judge Chauhan, lodging a complaint with the police on Saturday, had sought the registration of a case against Daulat Singh for allegedly using abusive language and criminal force to deter him from discharging his duty, intentionally insulting him with an intent to provoke breach of peace and for criminal intimidation during the proceedings of a civil suit.

Members of the Bar Association observed boycotted work on Monday and called upon the other Bar Associations of Punjab to boycott work on July 10 over the issue.
