Battery stolen from car, again

Chandigarh, April 16

Yet another incident of battery theft has been reported in the city.

The complainant, Perminder Singh, said the battery of his Maruti car parked near his house in Sector 37 was stolen on Sunday evening. Interestingly, this is the second time that the battery has been stolen from the same car in less than three months.

Perminder Singh said he went home after parking his car and returned a few hours later only to find its bonnet open and battery missing.

“In February too, miscreants had stolen the battery of my car,” the complainant said. Then, the incident was captured on CCTV and its footage was provided to the cops, who have not caught the accused yet.

In the latest incident, a DDR has been lodged at the Sector 39 police station. — TNS
