Mohali, December 5
Bollywood singer Jashan Singh’s Instagram account has been recovered after three weeks while his Facebook account is still out of access from him.
The singer had recently approached the Punjab Police Cyber Cell at Mohali and lodged a complaint regarding hacking of his Instagram and Facebook accounts by some Turkish rapper, who was demanding $4000 for restoring his social media accounts. As per the singer, the hacker was threatening to sell his accounts to some other person if he would not get the money.
“Now, the verified Instagram account has been recovered with the help of my friend, Bhadresh, an investigation officer from the Digital Cell in Mumbai, which deals with hacked social media accounts of celebrities,” Jashan said while adding that security of artistes was at risk.
“I am not the first victim. Celebrities like Amitabh Bachan, Adnan Sami and Mika Singh too were victims of hackers. The cases of hacking are being reported continuously. Social media is the only medium through which an artiste can connect with his/her fans,” added Jashan.
The Mohali police cyber cell official, Daljeet Singh, said, “Investigation is still on. The Facebook account will also be recovered soon.”
