CPI activists hold protest

PATIALA:Activists of the Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a protest in front of the Patiala Deputy Commissioner’s Office here after a national-level call by party leaders.

Patiala, July 25

Activists of the Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a protest in front of the Patiala Deputy Commissioner’s Office here after a national-level call by party leaders.

The activists were protesting against the Centre for its alleged failure on the issue of agriculture crises and declining level of education in the country. The protesters also held a protest rally on Jail Road where they raised slogans against the government.

Kulwant Singh Maulviwala said anti-social policies of the Union and state governments across the country have left citizens in the lurch.

“Everyday, we are receiving news of suicides by farmers and farm labourers due to the failure of the agriculture sector in the country,” Maulviwala said. — OC
