Emphasis laid on cleanliness of toilets, parks during special sanitation drive

Chandigarh, March 17

As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, today organised a special sanitation drive in Mauli Jagran and adjoining areas.

The drive was started by Mayor Davesh Moudgil in the presence of Additional Commissioner Dr Saurabh Mishra, area councillor Anil Kumar Dubey among others. Local residents’ welfare associations, safai karamcharis and residents also took part in the cleanliness drive.

During the drive, special emphasis was laid on the ongoing thematic drives on main roads, cleanliness of public and community toilets, cleanliness of parks, road berms and market areas.

Garbage, including horticulture waste, garbage mixed with malba, and accumulated garbage/malba from open/vacant spaces, was removed from various areas during the drive. Road berms, road gullies and parks were also cleaned.
