Girl forced out of exam centre, consumes pills

PATIALA:A 13-year-old girl allegedly consumed anti-anxiety pills after Mount Litera School authorities snatched an answer sheet from her while she was attempting her exam on Tuesday.

A 13-year-old girl allegedly consumed anti-anxiety pills after Mount Litera School authorities snatched an  answer sheet from her while she was attempting her exam on Tuesday.

Reason:  Pending tuition fee. The Class VI girl, who was broken to the core, reached home and took the extreme step. She was immediately rushed to a private hospital for the treatment. 

The doctor said the girl was admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after her health deteriorated. He said, “The girl took anti-anxiety tablets. Therefore, she is a bit drowsy. We have shifted her to the ICU.”

Gurpreet Kaur, mother of the girl said, “My daughter started crying after reaching home. She said her answer sheet was snatched and she was mentally tortured.”

Family members of the girl said they had paid around 95 per cent of the annual tuition fee and remaining would be submitted after exams. 

Meanwhile, the school authorities could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
