Groom’s father booked for firing gunshots

MOHALI:The police booked a man for firing gunshots during the marriage party of his son at Mullanpur.



Mohali, February 21 

The police booked a man for firing gunshots during the marriage party of his son at Mullanpur. 

The suspect has been identified as Ramla Rana, a resident of Kalaint village in Kaithal. The marriage of Ramla Rana’s son Sanjeev Rana, which was solemnised a couple of days ago at Teera village here, was the talk of the town as the bridegroom had come in a chopper. 

The police said during the celebrations, the suspect fired several gunshots from his double-barrel gun. 

“We came to know that Ramla Rana fired several rounds in the air during the marriage ceremony. We have booked him,” said Rajesh Asteer, Station House Officer (SHO), Mullanpur police station. 

A case under Sections 188 and 336 of the IPC has been registered against the suspect in this connection. No arrest has been made so far. — TNS
