Mohali, January 19
Former Kharar MLA and ex-minister Jagmohan Singh Kang has written to AAP MLA Kanwar Sandhu, refuting the allegation of having held meetings with officials of the Kharar subdivision.
The Congress leader termed the allegations as “irresponsible, politically motivated and audacious.”
Kharar MLA Kanwar Sandhu had earlier written a letter to Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and the Chief Secretary, questioning certain meetings allegedly convened by Jagmohan Singh Kang and attended by the officials of the Kharar sub-division.
“I have never gone to attend a formal government official meeting without an invitation nor have any such meetings been organised by me,” stated Kang. The Congress leader said perhaps AAP MLA Kanwar Sandhu had written the letter to the CM out of frustration and annoyance.
Kang’s letter stated that: “I would like to request you to show your passport in the Vidhan Sabha, so that people know that since you became an MLA, most of your time has been spent abroad.”
Urging Kanwar Sandhu to play the role of ‘constructive’ opposition, Kang wrote, “Please don’t try to teach me propriety. I and officers concerned of the district owe no explanation to you (Sandhu) for working in the interest of the people.” —TNS
