Chandigarh, July 10

The parent company of Kings XI Punjab, KPH Dream cricket private limited, owned by Preity Zinta is set to face trial in a civil case worth Rs 38 lakh. The complainant in the case is a city based dentist Subhash Satija who had given a house to the company for residential purposes. However, the company opened its office there.

The estate office had sent Satija a Rs 38 lakh notice for misusing the property. Satija, via advocate Deepan Sharma approached court and filed a civil suit to recover these charges from a company.

The company had filed an application to dismiss the case which was rejected by a court today. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for July 23.

The company had claimed that it did not open an office in Satija’s house. The property was used during IPL matches when company officials used to stay there. The company alleged that Satija wanted to sell the house and thus, when he received the notice from the estate office, he tried to pin the blame on the company.

The company had thus filed an application to dismiss the case against them but the application was rejected by court. The sector 19 house was rented to the company of February 1, 2011 for one year. As per the lease deed, the house could only be used for residential purposes. However, as per complaint, the company started misusing the property and opened the office without the permission of the owner.
