Man held with 132 bottles of liquor

CHANDIGARH: A Punjab resident was caught while illegally carrying 132 bottles of whisky and 24 bottles of beer in his car.

Chandigarh, January 13

A Punjab resident was caught while illegally carrying 132 bottles of whisky and 24 bottles of beer in his car. The suspect was nabbed at a drunken driving naka. According to the police, the suspect, Manminder Singh, a resident of Fatehgarh Sahib district, was caught at a drunken driving naka near the Sector 46/47/48/49 light point on the night of January 11. SI Ranjit Singh of the traffic police submitted a complaint at the local police station following which a case under the Excise Act was registered against the suspect at the Sector 49 police station. He was was arrested and later released on bail.
