The Pinjore police have nabbed three persons accused of attacking a group of people after they tried to remove the sand bags which the said accused had laid in the street for blocking the rainwater in Mollewali village, falling under Pinjore sub-division.
The accused have been identified as Vikram, Sukhbir Singh and Gurmeet Singh, alias, Meeta, all residents of Mollewali village.
The accused had been arrested by the police from Gill Dhaba located on the Naraingarh Road, Pinjore. They were produced in the court which remanded them to judicial custody.
It is pertinent to mention that tension had gripped the residents of Mollewali village falling under Charniya panchayat in Pinjore sub division as the two groups clashed with each other by pelting stones over the laying of rainwater drainage pipe in the village.
According to information, there are about 100 families living in the village and the people in the village divided over the laying of water pipes from the main street.
More than 10 persons were injured in the incident. The condition of one of the injured, Harnek Singh has been stated to be serious and he has been referred to PGI, Chandigarh. The other persons who were injured include Bimla, Ramkaran and Shrawan Singh who had been admitted in the Civil Hospital of Sector 6.
Even as the police and the BSF had been keeping a round the clock vigil, an uneasy calm prevailed in the village. The victims feared that the opposite party would attack them anytime after the police teams were removed from the area.
The police had booked more than 30 persons of the second group on the complaint of Harnek Singh’s brother Charan Singh under IPC.
