If the Syndicate decides on it on Sunday, students seeking admission in the upcoming session will not be able to flaunt their swanky cars or go out on 'gehris' on the PU campus. A part of the supplementary agenda for Sunday's meeting seeks directions to all departments from the DUI office wherein chairpersons will have to ensure that no student arrives in a car.

The authorities have failed to implement the four-wheeler ban on the campus from the last two years. However, some new suggestions will be put forth the Syndicate on Sunday. These include fine for wrong parking and traffic marshals from volunteer teaching and non-teaching staff. No parking areas will be designated on the campus and the executive engineer will get the areas on the road, where the vehicles can be parked, marked with white lines. Anyone parking in the no parking area will be fined as per the approved rates and non-sticker vehicles may also be towed away. The parking will be allowed on only one side of the road.

The traffic marshals will be volunteers from the teaching and non-teaching staff. Security personnel will be specifically appointed on traffic duty and given the power to stop violating vehicles and issue challans. The violations inviting a challan include over speeding, two-wheelers without mufflers and honking horn. They will also be given separate uniforms. Five boom barriers and four check gates are also proposed. The agenda however states a ban on cars of only fresh students i.e. the ones seeking admission in the upcoming session. It is not clear whether it will be implemented for existing students as well or not. In 2015, majority of the students had voted for making the academic areas four wheeler free. However, it has not yet happened.
