Now, submit objections by Jan 15

CHANDIGARH:The UT Administration has extended the last date for receiving objections to the draft parking policy till January 15.

Chandigarh, December 6

The UT Administration has extended the last date for receiving objections to the draft parking policy till January 15. The residents were earlier asked to send their objections over the policy by December 10.

The time has been extended to ensure maximum number of stakeholders give their views and suggestions on the policy.

Facing a major challenge of the rising number of vehicles, traffic chaos and the parking problem in the city, the Administration framed a draft parking policy in which various measures, including levying congestion charges, imposing heavy road tax, increasing parking charges multiple times and penalty, have been proposed. — TNS
